Because I have had difficulty posting to this site, I am changing my website for parents and students to a Schoolnotes site.  Please go to http://new.schoolnotes.com/cteater/ to see activities and assignments for my classes.  I apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, but I want to be certain that my postings are available, and such has not always been the case here.

Materials That Students Should Have

It is really important in any job to come to work with the materials and tools you need to do your work.  School is no different.  I try to keep the materials needed by students in my classes to a minimum.  (I raised four children of my own, and I remember how expensive buying materials at the beginning of the year can be.)  On the first day of school, students should bring the following materials:  notebook paper, a folder to keep papers together, a pencil and a blue or black pen.  By the second week of school, students should have a 3-ring notebook (not a folder) and a set of dividers labeled as follows:  Daily Grammar, Vocabulary, a binder clipAuthor's Craft Responses, Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, Voice, Sentence Fluency, Drafts.   In addition, students should have highlighters in at least 3 colors.  Finally, it is helpful to have a dictionary and a thesaurus at home.

Helpful Classroom Donations

There are some supplies that would be helpful to have in our classroom.  If you are willing to donate materials, the following items would be most appreciated:  tissues, paper towels, copy paper, filler paper,  3x5 index cards, sandwich bags, and pencil-top erasers.
